What is Zenwave?

Conscious movement and touch therapy grounded in natures rhythm.

Zenthai Shiatsu. Blending Traditional Thai Massage, Zen Shiatsu Therapy and Osteopathy, Zenthai Shiatsu is an ancient yet modern holistic therapy. Pulling heavily from Chinese 5 Element Theory of energy flow, the underlying principles are based on tuning to life force signatures in the body and mind. The bodywork itself is like a meditative dance, lulling you into a parasympathetic state of surrender so that underlying facets of your being can manifest themselves. It works on the principle “you are your best Doctor”; with deep listening you reveal the gold within your centre.

As a registered yoga teacher I have gone through certified training programs, specializing in a variety of practices including Zenthai Shiatsu Therapy (500 hour Therapist), Vinyasa and Mindful Yoga.

Growing up in the Emerald Island of Ireland, I am privileged to now call the Sunshine Coast home. I am a passionate surfer, photographer, fly fisherman, explorer. Since discovering the movement art of modern yoga as a means to rehabilitate a broken femur, I experienced energetic shifts in my being that spurred a curiosity for holistic healing. A deep dive into various yoga modalities led to becoming a certified yoga teacher (they say the best way to learn is to teach!). And then to Zenthai Shiatsu Therapy. Nothing provides more joy than connecting. And after my first Zenthai treatment at a festival I was overwhelmed by the deep pulse I shared with the Therapist. Intrigued by this healing art, I went on to train directly with the modalities founder, Gwyn Williams. I am privileged to now bring its pulse to others.

I hold a MSc degree in ecology. I’m fascinated by natural systems of being; the inherent flow of energy across biological systems - the Dao. When not practicing in my pursuits, you can find me travelling Australia as a sustainable food production consultant.  

What can you expect from a Zenthai Shiatsu Session?

Open listening and diagnostics

Explore your inner world as we look at how the Chinese 5 elements present in your life. Whether it is a physical ailment or emotional blockage needing released, let’s drop in and explore. All information is treated with the strictest of confidence and empathy. Pre-treatment consultations usually last 15 minutes for a 2 hour session, and less for shorter sessions (and included in the allocated time). This is usually followed by a 15 minute debrief, or a follow up message/phone call.

Bodywork

Fall deeper into yourself as we move through the many gestures of Zenthai Shiatsu. It is a smooth flowing sequence of manoeuvres, much like the experience of a gentle yoga class, except you can entirely let go as the practitioner takes control. It is sometimes referred to as “Lazy Yoga. Treatment sessions are tailored to your specific requirements, meaning they may vary from appointment to appointment. It is practiced as a floor style and fully clothed.

Personal Exploration

The rest is up to you. After all, you are the best Doctor, therapist and personal trainer. Whilst the physical treatment provides wonderful therapy, the real therapy happens in your own time. Start listening to the gold inside yourself. Guidance from Chinese 5 Element theory will help the exploration.

Explore the options

Intro rate for first 5 customers: $80 for 1.5 hours, with $20 for each half hour over time.

Normal price, $80 per hour, and $30 for each half hour over.

I keep my client list small so that I provide optimal care and attention. 2 hours are recommended for the treatment. Shorter sessions can be provided.
